Joan B Stewart, 74, formerly of Concord, NH died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon surrounded by her family.
Joan was born August 17, 1936 in Lemington, VT, the daughter of Lawrence and Doris (Chamberlain) Bean. She graduated from the Colebrook Academy in 1954 and was married to Dale A. Stewart September 11, 1954 at the Methodist Church in Colebrook. They lived there until Moving to Concord, NH in 1964, where they raised their family, they moved to Lebanon in 2007.
Joan was the past Nobel Grand of 3 Rebekah Lodges, Past President and Past Secretary of the Rebekah Assembly of New Hampshire and the Past Deptuy Matriarch for the Ladies Auxillaries for the Grand Encampment of NH.
She was a recipient of the Deliration of Chivalry and Meritorius Service Jewel. She was the current Secretary and Past President of the Department of the Ladies Auxillaries Patriarchs Millitant. She will be remembered for all he hard work and wonderful mothering.
She is survived by her husband Dale Stewart of Lebanon, four sons Peter Stewart of Laconia, NH, James Stewart of Concord, NH, Jeffrey Stewart of White River Junction, VT, and Ron Stewart of Newport News, VA, her Grandchildren, Melisa, Jason, Tabitha, Larry, Heather, and Amanda;a niece and great-grandchildren
Friends may call Friday, February 25 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction from 4-6 PM and from followed by a funeral service at 6 PM. Burial will be in the spring at the Colebrook Cemetery in Colebrook, NH.
