Ascutney, VT – Jennifer Lynn Smith Reed, 44, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018, in the presence of loved ones at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center following a motorcycle accident with her and her husband on September 8th in Chester, VT.
She was born July 4, 1974 in Lebanon, NH a daughter of James and Sonya (Smith) Griswold. Jen attended schools in Hartford and graduated from Mascoma High School Class of 1993. Following high school she began her nursing career working as an LNA at area nursing homes including Genesis Lebanon Center, Hanover Terrace and Brookside Nursing Home. She was recently working at Peraza Dermatology. Jennifer was a wonderful caregiver, adored by patients and co-workers.
She was married to Charlie Reed on August 9th 2014, who passed immediately following the accident.
Jennifer was a firecracker always up for a good time and always laughing; she had a huge heart of gold and only wanted the best for people. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, going to the beach and spending time with her friends and family.
Jennifer was survived by her parents, Sonya and Jim Griswold of Canaan, NH; her two children Daniel Giguere of Ascutney, VT and Morgan Town of Grafton, NH; her brothers, Bert Merchant, his wife Carly and their 5 children of Ridgeland, SC and Andrew Merchant and his significant other Louisa and their daughter of White River Jct., VT; many aunts, uncles and friends
A private family memorial service will be held at the Knight Funeral Home at the convenience of the family. A celebration of Jennifer's life will be held Tuesday September 18 from 5-7pm at the Canaan Assembly of God in Canaan
