Jeannette B. Fournier

Wilder, VT- Jeannette B. Fournier, age 92 died on January 6th, 2015 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, NH.

She was born May 28, 1922 in St. Marc des Carrieres, Quebec, daughter of the late Emile and Regina (Douville) Frenette. Jeannette was a beloved and devoted mother, wife and grandmother. She was a Master Seamstress designing and sewing beautiful pieces for her children and grandchildren. Her passions included quilting, doll collecting, reading, assisting her religious community and supporting her family with love and encouragement through each endeavor.

Jeannette was proud of her time spent working for the War Department as a "Government Girl" during WWII when more than one million women, herself included, relocated to Washington, DC to support the war effort. Her assignments included assisting the Quartermaster Corps in the tedious task of military-related materials sourcing. Her service spanned over two years.

Jeannie was predeceased by two sons, George Stephen Brockway in 1970 and John Emile Brockway in 1991 and two brothers Lucien and Charles Frenette.

She is survived by her husband Harold Fournier of Wilder, VT, daughter Mary Martin and her husband Jeff of East Corinth, VT; four step children, Harold Fournier Jr. and his wife Peggy of Windham, ME, Paul Fournier, M.D. and his wife Martha of Denver, CO, Nancy Scanlon and her husband John of Herscher, IL, and Michael Fournier and his wife Phoebe of West Newbury, MA. She is survived also by her five grandchildren, John W. Brockway and his wife Lynette, Katherine Martin, Emily Leaver and her husband Gregory, Patrick Martin and Charles Martin. She also leaves five great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Kyle, Stephen, Grace and Cameron; as well as two great-great grandchildren, Brody and Haley.

Visiting hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church in White River Jct. on Saturday, January 10th at 10am with reception to follow immediately after in the church hall.
