Jeannette Dubuque
Wilder, VT – Jeannette Dubuque, 87, died Thursday December 3, 2015 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
She was born April 29, 1928 in Lowell, MA a daughter of Joseph and Josephine Cyr. Jeannette grew up in Northfield, VT where she attended a one room school house. She moved to the Upper Valley and began her 40 year career as a dietary assistant at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, NH. She was married to James Dubuque and they have made their home in Wilder since.
Jeannette was a member of St. Anthony's Church as well as the American Legion Auxiliary both in White River Jct. and the Emblem Club in Hartford, VT. She enjoyed spending time at the Bugbee Senior Center and could be found with the other two "Golden Girls" Tessie Baribeau and Thelma McConnell. She and Jim enjoyed camping and were both active in the Vermont Good Sam Club. Enjoyed gardening and will be greatly missed by her beloved dog Angel.
She was predeceased by a sister Joan Dearborn and two brothers Leo and Adrian Cyr.
Jeannette is survived by her husband, Jim; two daughters, Linda Stickney and husband Morris of Woodstock, VT, Shelia Hathorn and husband Brian of White River Jct., VT; a son Lendell "Jim" Higley and wife Doris of Petersburg, VA; stepsons, Tim and his wife Heidi, Terry and Michael; grandchildren Bruce Hathorn, Bindy Hathorn, Dr. Jamie Higley and his wife Suzanne; great grandchildren Mayla, Harley, Gillian, Zoe, Parker; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, December 8 from 6-8PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church in White River Junction, VT at 11AM on Wednesday.
