Obituary

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VERMONT-

Jeanette St. James, 92, died June 21, 2010 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

Jeanette was born July 27, 1917 in Leominster, Massachusetts a daughter of Eugene and Wilhemina (Houle) Benoit. She moved with her family to Randolph, Vermont when she was two, she grew up in Randolph, Barre, and Canada. She was married to Leon St. James April 26, 1943 in Springfield, Massachusetts. They moved to White River Junction in 1949 where they raised their family.

She was an active member of St Anthony's Catholic Church in White River Junction, Vermont. She was best known for her homemade cookies and doughnuts. Her greatest joy in life was her family; she treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her wisdom and strength will live on through her children.

She is predeceased by her Loving Husband Leon St. James; a son Michael St. James; and eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald St. James of Wells, Maine
and Robert St. James of Enfield, New Hampshire; three daughters, Donna Sullivan of Pismo Beach, California, Laurel St. James-Long of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, and Linda St. James of Grover Beach, California; ten grandchildren, Kathleen Livingston, Tracey Carpenter, Terri Lee Couture, Michelle St. James, Jesse Long, Allison Bayne, Nastasya Parker, Nicole St. James, Silas St. James and Tiana St. James; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Claire Elmer of Graniteville, Vermont, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday from 6-8PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10AM at St. Anthony's Church in White River Junction, Vermont. Burial will follow at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in White River Junction
