South Royalton, VT- Jeanet C. Paquin, 89, died Sunday, May 26, 2024, at the Springfield Hospital in Springfield, VT.
Jeanet was born September 13, 1934, in North Troy, VT, a daughter of Carmi Edward and Lucy (Bushey) Garrett. She spent her early years in North Troy before her family moved to Connecticut. Jeanet graduated from high school in Connecticut in 1951 and later that year married Alfred Paquin. They lived in East Hartford, CT until moving to South Royalton in the early 1960's. Jeanet worked at Welch Brothers True Value Hardware, on the green in South Royalton, for nearly twenty years, retiring in the early 1990's.
She was an active member at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bethel. She enjoyed fishing and boating with Alfred, while spending summers in their RV on Lake Memphremagog in Newport, VT. Jeanet loved animals, especially her dogs and also enjoyed gardening and watching the birds in her yard.
She is grateful to Nancy and Roy Wight for all they did that allowed her to remain in her home after Alfred's death in 2010.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; and her three brothers, Ralph, Adolph, and Edmund. Jeanet is survived by a sister, Joyce Voyer and nephew, Emile Voyer both of Bristol, CT; as well as many other nieces and nephews; her good friend, Don Lovejoy and her many friends and neighbors.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Friday, June 14, 2024, at 11AM at St. Anthony's Church in Bethel with committal services will following in the Branchview Cemetery in South Royalton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be Made to St. Anthony's Church, PO Box 428, Randolph, VT 05060.
