Sharon, VT – Jean H. Johnson, 89, died peacefully Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the Valley Terrace Assisted Living Facility in White River Jct., VT.  Jean was born June 29, 1932, in Malden, MA to John and Marion (Hewitt) Hird.  Growing up in Wakefield, MA graduated from Wakefield High School and attended La Salle University.  On June 6, 1953, she married Frank Walter Johnson, Jr. in Wakefield and they made their home in Wilmington, MA until they moved to Sharon, VT, in 1972.  Jean was very active in the town of Sharon.  She served as secretary and town treasurer for many years.  Frank and Jean enjoyed spending winters in Ajo, AZ for many years where they made many friends and fond memories.  Her hobbies included cross stitch, quilting, going to yard sales, reading, and enjoying family.

She was predeceased by her husband Frank who died in 2016; her parents; and a brother, John S. Hird.

Jean is survived by three daughters, Gail Shore and husband Dan of Oklahoma City, OK, Valerie Potter and husband David of Sharon, VT, Debra Boles and husband Paul of Sharon, VT; nine grandchildren, Tamara Weinberg, Daniel Potter, Ashley Ziai, Linden White, Tanner White, Jarris White, Kaycie White, Darren Boles, and Lindsey Martell; eleven great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

A private family graveside service will be held in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Sharon, VT and memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
