WINDSOR, VT
Jean E. Buckman, 92, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Sunday evening, May 21, at the Cedar Hill Health Care Center in Windsor.
She was born September 28, 1924 in Claremont, NH the daughter of John and Vida (Milne) Edmonds. She received her schooling in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1942. She then attended the Burbank School of Nursing in Fitchburg, MA and earned her nursing degree in 1945. Jean married Albert E. Buckman on February 10, 1946.
Mrs. Buckman was employed by the Windsor School District as a registered nurse for both, State Street Elementary School and Windsor High School for thirty five years until her retirement in 1986.
She was an avid golfer and was a lifetime member of the John P. Larkin Country Club in Windsor. She was also a member of the Rachel S. Harlow United Methodist Church in Windsor. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert Buckman, who passed away on August 24, 1993 and also by her parents and one sister, Mary Merchant.
Survivors include her four children, Diane Young and her husband, Lester, Dana Buckman and his wife, Sherri, Dell Chartier and her husband, Chris and Duane Buckman and his companion, Linda Cowdrey, all of Windsor, five grandchildren, Tara Sargent, Catherine Dimick, Brianne Chambers, Christopher Patterson and Lindsey Buckman, six great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 2 at 10:00 AM in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor with Elder Henricus Koldyk, of the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Windsor, officiating.
