White River Jct., VT - Jason Scott Carpenter, 47, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at home in White River Jct.

He was born October 29, 1976, in Lebanon, NH a son of Dale Ballou and Sylvia Carpenter. Jason grew up in Wilder and graduated from Hartford High School. Shortly after school he met and fell in love with Angela Broughton of West Lebanon. They were married in 2008 and lived in White River Jct. where they raised their children, Carly and Brody.

Jason worked for the Town of Hanover and Hartford Parks and Recreation Department for several years and most recently has been self-employed, selling used cars. He enjoyed seeing his friends and colleagues at the Connecticut Valley Auto Auction each week.

He enjoyed following his kids' activities and spent many hours at their sporting events. Jason will be remembered for his kind soul and was always willing to help anyone he could. He had a very outgoing personality and enjoyed visiting with everyone. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and boating including hunting trips out west and boating on the Connecticut River with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Angela; children, Carly and Brody; his mother, Sylvia Carpenter and father Dale Ballou; sister Stacey Ballou (Timmy Young) and niece, Jersey, all of White River Jct.; his aunts, Terri Tibbets and Heidi Carpenter; uncle, Preston Carpenter; cousin, Miranda Handy and was also very close with his wife's family including his mother-in-law, Gail Broughton, brothers-in-law Dustin Broughton (Brandy) and Jim Broughton (Andrea); sister-in-law Karriebeth Davis (Scott) and  uncle Jay will be greatly missed by all of the Broughton nieces and nephews, Emily, Cameron, Caleb "Ralph", Sydney, Parker, Cooper, Piper and Tucker.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 10th at 1PM in the Christian Street Cemetery, 2379 Christian Street, Wilder, VT with a reception to follow.
