IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jane
Spaulding
February 21, 1950 – February 9, 2020
Wilder, VT- Jane Ellen Spaulding, 69, died Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Jack Byrne Center at DHMC in Lebanon, NH following a lengthy battle with ALS. She is gone but she never gave in to this cruel disease. And she remains with us in spirit, stronger than ever.
Jane was born February 21, 1950 in Morrisville, VT a daughter of Emmet and Beulah "Peggy" (Norton) Flannery. She graduated from People Academy in Morrisville, VT class of 1968, and went on to graduate from the Vermont School of Radiologic Technology class of 1970. Remembered by her classmates and coworkers, Jane was a real "people" person. That fit in with her career in health care. She loved her interactions with patients. Jane went on to work at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in White River Junction where she retired from, and worked at Alice Peck Day Hospital in Lebanon, NH. Finally retiring after 48 years of experience.
Jane Spaulding loved to celebrate life through reminders of joy (balloons, glitter "joy", clowns and confetti!) A cat lover, over the years Jane considered each pet a member of the family. She loved to attend community lunches, baby showers and parties with her friends, co-workers and neighbors. Mom never missed a chance to give a greeting card.
Jane enjoyed gardening and volunteerism. One of her favorite activities was volunteering with The Hartford Community Restorative Justice Center in White River Junction - a collaborative of area residents and law enforcement aiming to reduce crime and rebuild community in the greater Hartford area. Everyone deserved a real second chance, she figured, but they may need to work for it. Her house was the first and last on the block each year with flowers.
Jane is survived by a son Ryan Spaulding of Maynard, MA; a daughter Krista Spaulding of Medford, MA; granddaughters Kahlan & Tegan Clark, Medford, MA; and a brother Emmet "Skip" Flannery of Wolcott VT.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, February 29 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River from 1pm to 3pm. Burial will be held at a later date in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Morrisville, VT. Condolences to Jane's family may be made in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com
