Obituary

Hartford, VT- Jane L Illsley, 96, beloved mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, sister aunt and friend died peacefully on Tuesday May 11, 2010 at the Brookside Nursing Home in Hartford, VT.

Jane was born on December 24, 1913 in Thetford, VT, to Arther and Abby (Winham) Robinson, She married Milford B. Illsley on October 15, 1934 in Hartford, VT. Jane and Milford lived their lives as dairy farmers in Hartford, VT, West Lebanon, NH and the final farm on Poverty Lane in Lebanon, NH. Jane spent many years in service to others. She volunteered at the Alice Peck Day nursing home and the Seventh Day Adventist Church , where she has been a member for many years. She volunteered in the church community service room, helped to put together holiday food baskets, cared for elderly people, and foster children. Jane enjoyed making quilts, vegetable and flower gardening, berry and apple picking, gathering butternuts, growing house plants, baking bread and making donuts for her family and later her grand and great-grandchildren, all of whom were her pride and joy. Due to failing health she has spent the last six years at the Brookside Nursing Home. The family wishes to express their gratitude to all of her care givers including the nurses, LNAs, Doctors, and activity directors that helped and cared for their mother during the last six years.

She is survived by her children, Joyce Evans of Hendersonville, NC, Dot Hutchins of Quechee, VT, Wayne Illsley of Claremont, NH, Barbara and son-in-law Gerald Huston of Pueblo, CO, Alice and son-in-law David Best of Meriden, NH , Elaine and son-in-law Dan Soucy of Cornish, NH, Jane is also survived by eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren, four step great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a brother Lawrence Robinson of Holleston, MA.

She is predeceased by her husband Milford, infant son David Lawrence, a brother George Robinson, sisters Bessie Dunton, Edith Johnson and Marjorie Parker.

Funeral Services will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church 99 Maple Street, West Lebanon, NH, Saturday May 22, at 2PM. Burial will follow in the Hartford Cemetery. Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT has been entrusted with arrangements.
