White River Jct., VT – Jane C. Gaucher, 73, died Monday evening, June 11, at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, VT. She was born November 21, 1938 in Worcester, MA the daughter of Eugene and Rachel (Normandin) Christian. She grew up in Spencer, MA and graduated from the David Prouty High School class of 1956. After her graduation Jane went to work as a secretary at the Cleven Shoe Company in Spencer MA. She met the love of her life, Robert P. Gaucher, and they married on April 12, 1958. They lived in Massachusetts until Bob's work took him to Vermont. Jane and Bob purchased a home in North Hartland in 1966 where they raised their family. Jane worked at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH as a secretary. In 1970 Jane went to work at NETAM Corp. in North Hartland, VT as a secretary/ office manager on a temporary basis where remained for twenty three years until her retirement in 1993. In March of 1979 Jane and Bob opened BG's Market in Hartland, VT. Mom would be the bookkeeper during the week and on Saturday afternoons and Sunday morning's you could find her at the store working side by side with Bob.

Jane's main focus was her family and friends and her door was always open to whoever wanted to stop by. She made her home a home for not only for her family but their friends as well. She liked to watch all kinds of sports on TV including Celtic's basketball, little league baseball and Golf. It was just recent that she became involved with NASCAR. One of her most memorable trips as a family was when Jane and Bob went to a NASCAR Race in Charlotte, NC. Most of all, Jane and Bob absolutely loved watching their grandchildren play sports. From t-ball to high school games, they rarely missed a game or event.

Jane is predeceased by her husband Robert "Bob" Gaucher and a bother Francis Christian.

She is survived, a son, William "Bill" Gaucher of Hartland, VT, a daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Jay Waterman of White River Jct., VT, two grandchildren, Benjamin and Morgan, a sister, Patricia L'Heurex of East Brookfield, MA, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Knights Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT on Friday evening June 15, from 6-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, June 16, at 11AM at St. Anthony Church in White River Jct., VT
