Lyme, NH— My beloved husband of 50+ years, James F. Smith, went to be with the Lord on April 5, 2022. He was born in Hanover, NH to Richard F. and Lucy (Laware) Smith. Jim grew up in Penacook, NNH. He graduated from Penacook High School and attended one year at UNH. He enlisted in the Army and after basic training, he joined the NHNG out of Concord, NH. Jim married Maureen E. Wiggin July 10, 1971. Two sons were born to the couple.

Jim was a hard worker and took great pride and joy working for over 45 years doing carpentry and remodeling. He was always available to anyone in need in the Upper Valley. He owned JSS, Jim Smith Services.

Jim is survived by his wife, Maureen Smith, a son, Jody A. Smith of Claremont, NH, and a son, Richard J. Smith of E. Thetford, VT. A grandson, Lincoln H. Smith, and a granddaughter, Lacie N. Smith of E. Thetford, VT.

We would like to thank the doctors and staff at Dartmouth Hitchcock Palliative Care, Bayada hospice, who provided excellent care during his final days, and Lyme Parish Nurses and their care team.

There will be no services per Jim's request. He only wanted to be remembered as he was: a hard worker and a GREAT STORY TELLER. He will be missed forever.
