Chelsea, Vermont – James Gardner Moses II, 29 died unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, February 21, 2018 at his apartment in Chelsea, VT.
He was born December 27, 1988 in Lebanon, NH the son of James G. Moses and Darlene Savery. He grew up in Strafford and Tunbridge, VT and graduated from Thetford Academy class of 2007. James went to Linesmen School in Trenton Georgia and after graduating in 2011 with honors went to work as a Linesman for CW Light Construction and then later as a foreman for Infra Tec. He returned to Vermont and worked for a short time on overhead power lines until he went in to business for himself as a carpenter.
James was a skilled carpenter but could do most any kind of work in the construction field.
James knew how to work hard but he also knew how to play hard too. He enjoyed hanging with his friends, snowmobiling, riding ATVs and raising a little hell. Most of all he loved fishing with his four year old son and his fiancée.
He was predeceased by his mother Darlene Savery, a half sister, Catherine Pixley, and his paternal grandfather, Richard Moses.
James is survived by his son Camron James Moses, his fiancée, Mandy Marie Cabral both of Chelsea, VT, his father and step mother, Jim and Diane Cabral Moses of Tunbridge, VT, his sister, Suzanna Moses of Perkinsville, VT, brother, Nicholas Moses of Strafford, VT, step brothers, TJ Moses of Tunbridge, VT, Matthew Cabral of TN, his cousin Kyle Moses who was like a brother to James, his paternal grandmother, Janice Moses of Tunbridge, VT, Step grandparents, Mr & Mrs. Raymond Cabral of Dartmouth, MA , Mr and Mrs. Mittelsteadt of Thetford, VT as well as several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Calling hours will be held Friday afternoon, March 2, 2018 from 2-4PM at the Knight Funeral Home inn White River Jct., VT. A life celebration will be held Saturday afternoon, March 3 at 5PM in Barrett Hall in Strafford, VT.
