IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Richard
Morse
June 23, 1965 – December 6, 2025
Windsor, VT – James Richard Morse, 60, died on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care in Lebanon, NH following a cancer diagnosis last year. Jimmy was born on June 23, 1965, in Claremont, NH to Harold Arthur and Marilyn (Fuller) Morse. He grew up in Cornish and Windsor with seven siblings. He had boundless energy, a kind heart, no fear, and from an early age exhibited commitment and the willingness to work hard.
His stepfather, Moe Lemere, introduced him to rabbit hunting through the Claremont Beagle Club when he was about 10 years old. Jimmy loved running with the dogs and soon had his own award-winning Beagles. He later joined the West Windsor Coon Club, supporting both clubs and forming friendships through a shared love of hunting and the dogs. He was also an avid deer hunter for many years. He adored his dogs and all animals, often rescuing orphaned baby wildlife, raising them and then releasing them or finding them a home at a sanctuary.
He worked as tree trimmer for most of his adult life, operating his own business by word of mouth but also helped operate heavy machinery on an interstate bridge project.
He is survived by his mother Marilyn Kniffin (Dave) of Windsor; three children Josh Morse of Windsor, Natasha Morse of Springfield, VT, and Angel Roth of Claremont, NH; six siblings Skip Morse (Shawny Grainger) of Claremont, NH, Marilyn Morse (Eric Crate) of Enfield, NH, Carolyn Holling (Michael) of Windsor, Jason Lemere of Krum, TX, Jody Farnsworth (Ralph) of Springfield, VT, and Randy Barton of Charlestown, NH; six grandchildren Natalie, Tiana, Kashton, Lexus, Karson, and Noah; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Harold Morse, stepfather Moe Lemere, and one sister Sherrie Pierce.
Services for James will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to The Claremont Beagle Club. Knight Funeral Home of Windsor, VT has been entrusted with arrangements and online condolences may be expressed at www.knightfuneralhomes.com.
