Windsor, VT- Jackie L. Young, 61, of Windsor, VT, died Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, following a brief illness.

Born on October 8, 1963, in Newport, VT, Jackie was the daughter of Robert and Carol (Thorne) Varney. The family moved to Hartland when Jackie was young, and she graduated from Windsor High School.

Jackie married Richard Kelly Young in 1986 in Hartland, and together they built a life in Windsor, raising their two sons. Jackie worked in housekeeping at Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor and spent countless hours caring for her son with special needs, Michael. She enjoyed yearly vacations to Maine with the family and when time allowed, loved playing bingo.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Kelly Young in 2022, their son, Michael Young earlier this month as well as her father, Robert Varney, and a sister, Vickie Macie.

Jackie leaves behind her son, Matthew Young of Windsor, her mother, Carol J. Varney of Fort Myers, FL, her sister, Judith Meunier (Richard) also of Fort Myers, and her brother, Joseph C. Varney (Carrie) of Thetford, VT.

A graveside service will be held at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery on a date to be announced.
