Irma Cook Renehan
Norwich, VT – Irma Cook Renehan, 81, died Thursday June 28th at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, NH.
She was born September 5, 1930 in Norwich, VT a daughter of Rowe and Myrtie (Hoyt) Cook. After graduating from Hanover High School, Irma went to work for AB Gile Insurance Agency where she worked until retiring as office manager after forty two years of service. For many years she also worked evenings at the Nugget Theater in Hanover, it was there that she met Robert Renehan, Jr.; they were married August 9, 1975 in Etna, NH. After retiring they wintered in Orange City, FL. Irma has spent over the past twenty five winters in Florida.
Irma was a long time member of the United Methodist Church in Union Village. She was very active in the church including as a former Sunday School teacher. She will be remembered by her family for the loving care she showed to all of them, especially the children.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 1990 and is survived by her brother Sidney Cook of Norwich a brother-in-law Donald Renehan of West Lebanon, NH and several nieces and nephews including Carole C. Freeman of East Corinth, VT, Judith C. Pierce of Hanover, NH, Daniel G. Cook and Becky J. Cook both of Norwich, Gordon M. Clogston of Brookfield, MA, Sharron C. Baldasaro of Coventry, RI, Shelley Renehan and Sharman Renehan both of West Lebanon and a step-daughter Nancy Renehan of White River Jct.
There will be a time of visitation at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. Friday July 6th from 1-2PM. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 2PM with burial in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
