Obituary

White River Jct., VT – Irene C. Robichaud, 89, died Thursday September 10th 2015 at home in White River Jct., VT.
She was born November 2, 1925 in Welcome, MN a daughter of Otto an Elizabeth (Wessel) Lemke. Irene attended school at St. Paul's Lutheran Parochial School in Wilbert and Fairmont, MN. During World War II she worked in a Sturgeon Bay, WI shipyard as a welder. Irene later moved to Milwaukee where she was married to Bill Courtney for a time until his death at an early age due to leukemia. After a time she met John Robichaud, they were married in Waukegan, IL on October 1, 1964 and continued to live in Milwaukee for several years. Together they moved to White River Jct., VT in 1967 where they have lived since.
Irene enjoyed sewing, cooking and crafting especially stencils. More recently she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. She was also a member of the American Rosie the Riveter Association.
She was predeceased by a sister Marcella Nicholson and three brothers Alfred, Emil and Victor Lemke.
She leaves her husband, John, of White River Jct., a sister Ester Baxter of Blue Earth, MN and three brothers Sylvan Lemke and wife Dolores of Armstrong, IA, Reinhold Lemke and wife Lorraine of Northfield, MN and Hubert Lemke and wife Shirley of Fairmont, MN as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A time of visitation may be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT on Wednesday September 16th from 2-3PM. A memorial service will follow at 3PM.
