Obituary

BROWNSVILLE, VT - Irene Bejarano passed away in her home on March 25 surrounded by her family. Born in Brooklyn, she and her Husband Carlos moved to Columbia in the late 1940s with Westinghouse where she was well know for her career in stage acting and volunteering with the US embassy. Returning to New York in 1965 she continued off Broadway and then later some community theater when she moved to Greenwich Connecticut in 1976. In the 1970s she received a degree in interior design from NYU and was a great supporter of the National Organization of Woman. In 1987 they moved to Florida and she played many parts in commercials for both the US and Latin markets. 1998 she moved to Woodstock Vermont and then Brownsville in 2014 where she enjoyed remodeling both places and helped a few neighbors with decorating and colors. Irene had enjoyed travels from Brazil to Cuba, the east and west coast of the USA and as far north as Nova Scotia. She and Carlos drove through Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy. Once an entire summer in Spain and on a spiritual trip was able to sleep at the base of a pyramid. Irene was survived by 4 children Maureen, Brian, Lisa and Douglas. She has 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren who were all part of her life. A Celebration of her life will be held April 7th between 2:00 and 4:00 pm at the Ascutney Resort in West Windsor Vermont.
