White River Jct., VT – Inez Smith, 87 died Sunday January 20, 2019 at home in White River Jct.

She was born April 6, 1931 in Burlington, VT a daughter of Earl and Luella (Farnham) Blackmore.  Inez graduated from Hartford High School class of 1949 and was married to Norman Smith April 20, 1949.  She began working as a bookkeeper at Gateway Motors in 1956 and retired after 38 years of service to the company in 1994.

Inez enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing.  She also enjoyed bingo and particularly enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Norm, in 1974; her only child, Daniel Smith in 1989; a sister Marion Southard in 2007 and a grandson-in-law Louie White.

She is survived by her stepmother Grace Youtt and her husband Walter of Enfield, NH; two granddaughters, Tina Smith White and Michelle Durkee and husband David Sr. all of White River Jct.; four great grandchildren, Angela and Skyler Smith and Daniel and Liam Vezina; two great-great grandchildren, Isaac and Shayla Vezina; a sister Virginia Gould of White River Jct.; four half sisters Laura Lapine and husband Eddie, Lisa Knapp and husband Steve, Louise Clark  and husband Dean and Linda Alexander; a half brother Ricky Blackmore; step brother Ronald Allard and partner Debbie; step sister Judy Demary and husband Gordon and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visiting hours, a private graveside service will be held in the spring in the Hilltop Cemetery in Quechee.
