ASCUTNEY, VT
Ina M. Spaulding, 82, a resident of Ascutney, passed away Saturday evening, August 7, at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.
She was born June 4, 1928 in Weston, Vermont the daughter of Frank and Maude (Taft) Stevens. She received her schooling in Weston and attended Chester High School. She married Kenneth J. Spaulding on March 2, 1945 in Springfield, VT. She was employed at the former Windsor House Hotel, William Ideal Laundry and Dry Cleaning and at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor for several years. She most recently did housekeeping for several local families.
Mrs. Spaulding's greatest enjoyment in life was cooking for her family and baking for friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed sewing, and had made all her children and grandchildren handmade quilts. She was a member of the former Windsor Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, and by six brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include her husband of sixty five years, Kenneth J. Spaulding of Ascutney, two sons, Robert L. Spaulding and his wife, Margaret of Ascutney, and Ronald D. Spaulding and his wife, Debbie of Hartford, VT, two daughters Christine Packard of Norwich, VT and Sheila Woodward and her husband, Woody of Myrtle Beach, SC, their favorite dog, Benji, one sister, Grace Rice of South Burlington, VT, eight grandchildren, Midge Stewart of Claremont, NH, Tim Packard of Canaan, NH, Richard Packard of Wilder, VT, Jeff Packard of White River Jct., VT, Rob Spaulding of Ascutney, VT, Cathy Underhill of Brownsville, VT, Tim Considine and David Considine of Springfield, VT, fifteen great grandchildren, Alissha Stewart and Ryan Page of Claremont, NH, Misty Houston of Enfield, NH, Ashlie Packard, Jessica Packard and Emily Packard of White River Jct., VT, Samantha Packard and Riley Packard of Wilder, VT, Samantha Spaulding of Raleigh, NC, Robbie Spaulding and Brooke Spaulding of Ascutney, VT, Jacob Underhill and Savannah Underhill of Brownsville, VT, and Gabe Considine and Kimberlyn Considine of Springfield, VT, two great great grandchildren, Keegan Packard of White River Jct., VT and Emily Spaulding of Raleigh, NC, several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor on Wednesday evening, August 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 12 at the Knight Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Walter McDaniels, Pastor of the Weathersfield Bow Baptist Church. Committal services will be held Saturday, August 14 at 10:00 AM in the Ascutneyville Cemetery in Ascutney.
