Hristo K. Dragnev
Hanover – Hristo Konstantinov Dragnev, 84, died on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at home in Hanover. He was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, on Dec. 23, 1930, a son of Konstantin and Nadezhda Dragnev.
He attended Medical School in Sofia where he organized an anticommunist student group. For these activities he was persecuted and expelled from the university. He then studied veterinary medicine where he met his wife Nataliya. Despite political suppression under communism, he had a productive scientific career. He became a Professor of Veterinary Sciences and the Director of the Institute for Animal Science in Kostinbrod, Bulgaria.
He was blessed by the love of his wife and the close relationship with his son. He was an intellectual who was loyal to his many friends.
He is survived by his wife Nataliya, his son Konstantin, his granddaughter Nathalie, his grandson Christo, and by his brother Dimitar.

The funeral service was held at 10 am on July 20, 2015, at the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Claremont, NH, with Father Andrew Tregubov officiating. Knight Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangement.
