White River Junction, VT – Howard "Howie" Mullins, 66, died on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, following a courageous battle with liver cancer.
Howie was born August 12, 1959, in Aiken, SC, a son of William and Beatrice (Charles) Mullins. He attended Fox Primary School and Buckley High School in Hartford, CT. In 1976, he moved with his family to White River Junction, where he had lived since.
Over the years, Howie worked as a laborer for Twin State Fruit, Renehan Acres, Dartmouth Printing, Dunkin Paving, and most recently Carpet King, retiring in 2017 due to health concerns.
A competitive athlete, Howie loved playing on his school teams and was an accomplished runner. In adulthood, he enjoyed playing basketball at the park with friends and softball in local leagues. He also loved fishing, evenings playing Yahtzee with his partner Annette, and regular family road trips to find the best snack bars in Vermont and New Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Mullins; mother, Beatrice Catlett; and sister, Sherry Nichols.
He is survived by his companion, Annette Wright; a daughter, Teri Horne, both of White River Junction; four granddaughters, Morgan Horne, Maranda Keough, Jessie Wilbur, and Mackenzie Keough; five great-grandchildren, Pasley, Elianna, Colby, Zavior, and Everly; two brothers, Richard Mullins (Donna) and William "Billy" Mullins, both of White River Junction; a sister, Robin Mullins of Manchester, NH; a niece, Melissa Mullins, and many other nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in the Christian Street Cemetery in Wilder.
