Sharon, Vermont – Hope Suzanne Schraer, 36 died tragically in a house fire at a friends home in Charlestown, NH June 6, 2024.  She was born November 24, 1987 in Hamilton, OH the daughter of Susan Henderson and Christopher Schraer.  At the age of 11 she moved to Colorado Springs later attending Mitchell High School and New Horizons Alternative School.  Hope had one daughter, Hailey Thornton 21 with Chad Thornton.  She later relocated to Vermont with her mother and step father Richard Wilcox.  While in Vermont she and Karl Baumgartner had two boys Jackson Baumgartner 11, Theodore Baumgartner 6.

Hope worked as a Licensed Nurse for several years in Colorado and also began her RN studies there.  After moving to Vermont Hope worked at Brookside Nursing Home while continuing her RN studies at River Valley in Claremont, NH.  She remained at Brookside until the last patient was gone when it closed.  After graduating nursing school she worked at Alice Peck Day Hospital and Genesis Elder Care in Lebanon, NH.

Hope is survived by many other family members.  Grandmothers Marcia Schraer and Deborah Popp, sister Heather Moore, step sister Kiya Hoagland, Uncle Robert and Amy Schraer of Ohio, Aunt Amy Ebbing of Illinois, Uncles Christopher and Robert Anderson of Indiana, several nieces, nephews and cousins, along with many other extended family members and great friends.

Hope was a loving daughter, mother and friend who enjoyed gardening, collecting rocks and family vacations to Hampton Beach.  She also enjoyed target practicing, and spending time with family.  A Celebration of Life is being held for family and close friends at North Hartland Dam on June 19th at 5PM.
