Hilda B. Reynolds
Hilda B. Reynolds of North Fort Myers, FL, age 98, died Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, FL.
She was born October 7, 1916 in Hartford, VT the daughter of Leslie and Grace (Hogan) Blood. She grew up in Hartford and graduated from Hartford High School class of 1934.
She was married to Harry N. Reynolds in February 1939 and lived together in White River Junction, VT.
They moved to New Britain, CT in 1941 to work at Fafnir Bearing in support of the war effort. They built a home in Farmington, CT in 1949 where they raised their two children. Hilda worked for Southern New England Telephone for over 30 years, retiring in 1982. She had a summer home in Madison, Ct since 1977 and a winter home in Florida since 1983.
Hilda was an extraordinary person and an incredible friend. She would stay in touch with everyone and was able to attend her 75th high school reunion. She loved anything Volkswagen including toys and apparel. Hilda had a fine vocabulary and enjoyed doing crosswords.
She was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1979 and her brother, Gordon L. Blood, in 1997.
She is survived by a son Keith N. Reynolds and his partner Rosemary L. Miles of Vero Beach, FL; a daughter Karen R. Neave and her husband Allan D. Neave of Punta Gorda, FL; three grandchildren, Scott A. Neave of San Antonio, TX, Tad D. Neave of Oakdale, CA, and Alex (Reynolds) Kahrs of Orlando, FL; five great-grandchildren, Austin Neave, Nathan Neave, Alexandria Neave, Pablo Neave and Mackenzie Blum; and long time close personnal friend, Tina Salzarulo, Surry, ME.
A graveside memorial and internment service will be held in the Hartford Cemetery in White River Junction, VT. Those wishing to attend may call Keith Reynolds at 860-227-5115.
