Springfield, Vermont – Hilda Lena "Tootie" Miller, 79 died Tuesday afternoon, November 12 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. She was born February 18, 1940 in Northfield, VT the daughter of Ovila D. and Adeline (Raymo) Premont.
She grew up in Northfield, VT where she attended grade school. Toottie was married at an early age to Arnold Thurston and was later divorced. In 1972 she married Leroy Miller and they made their home in Windsor, VT. She was a stay at home mom. She loved her family and family gatherings. She was a volunteer for many years with the Vermont Special Olympics especially the Upper Valley Hawks. Tootie enjoyed being outdoors in the sunshine and loved playing horseshoes, which she was very good at. She also enjoyed doing word search puzzles, watching western movies and game shows like Family Feuds, Price is Right and Jeopardy. She will be remembered for her big and kind heart.
She was predeceased by four brothers, Donette Premont and sister Louise Miller, step children Larry Miller, Leroy Miller and Marty Miller.
She is survived by five sons, Greg Rainsville of St. Albans, VT, Bruce Thurston of Charlestown, NH, Theodore Terjelian of Maine, Ovila Miller of Springfield, VT, Frankie Miller of Claremont, NH, daughters, Donna Morale Gagne of Manchester, NH, Lena Auclair of Springfield, VT, step children, Elaine "Susan" Miller of Cornish, NH, Nona Colburn of Claremont, NH, David Miller and Jeff Miller both of Northfield, VT.
