White River Junction, VT – Herbert L. Castellini, 92, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 13, 2026, at The Village at White River Junction.
Born March 28, 1934, to the late Merton and Frances (Knight) Castellini. Herb grew up in Windsor where he attended schools before serving in the US Army during the Korean War. After returning from his military service, Herb returned to Windsor and began his career at Cone-Blanchard, Retiring in 1996 after 41 years of service to the company. Herb was married to Patricia Romano May 19, 1967, at St. Anthony’s Church in White River Jct., and has lived in White River Jct. since.
Herb has been a member of St. Anthony’s Church for the past 70 years. He was also a past member of the Hartford Elks and a lifetime member of the White River Jct. Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
He was predeceased by his devoted wife of 59 years, Patti, in March as well as brothers, George, Gerald, and Merton Castellini and sisters, Elizabeth Castellini, and Edwina Stevens.
He leaves his children Herbert Castellini, Jr. and wife Judy of Florida, Jeffrey Castellini and wife Laura of Enfield Center, NH and Wendy Moore and her partner Dale Atwood of Barre, VT; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, including Robert McCarthy, Jr. and wife Cindy McCarthy of Lebanon, NH who were especially close with him. He also leaves a sister, Mary Darling of Hartland, VT.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 18th from 4-6PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Wednesday, August 19th at St. Anthony Catholic Church in White River with burial to follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bugbee Senior Center, 262 North Main Street, White River Jct., VT 05001, or a charity of your choice. Condolences may be made in an online guestbook at knightfuneralhomes.com.
