Henry J. Macuga, 87, died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
Henry was born December 16, 1923 in Ware, MA the son of Frank and Viola (Pisarski) Macuga. He was raised in Ware and graduated from Ware High School. Following High School Henry worked for a time as a machinist before he joined the Army Air Corp where he was a pilot. Upon his return he attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and transferred to Ohio State University where he earned degrees in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. He worked for a time as an engineer before going to work for and purchasing Gillespie Corporation in Ware.
He was married to the love of his life Lois Simmonds on Friday October 13, 1972 in Hamden, CT. The Macuga's bought property in Quechee and made this their permanent home in 1990, he continued to commute to Ware where he was still employed.
Henry was a member of the Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a proud Free Mason. He truly loved to play tennis, and to spend time with his wife.
He is predeceased by his father Frank Macuga and mother Viola Dudek.
Henry is survived by his wife Lois Macuga of Quechee, VT; a sister Mae Dudek of Ware, MA; a niece Linda Richards and husband Gene; and several cousins.
There will be no visiting hours or funeral per Henry's request. Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction has been entrusted with arrangements.
