Henry Kessler, 96, of White River Jct, Vermont passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Valley Terrace Assisted Living. He was born and raised in Fairfield, Connecticut, served in the US Navy during World War II and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was married to Ferne Wilson, formerly of Bridgeport , Connecticut, on July 28, 1943 and they moved to Vermont and worked at the VA where he continued to work until his retirement. They were both involved in the establishment of the Valley Bible Church. He remained actively involved up until the time of his death. He is predeceased by his wife, Ferne, in 1972 and his daughter, Diana, in 2013. He is survived by his sister, Helen Kleps of Bend, Oregon and her family; two sons and one daughter and their families; Dean and Kathy Kessler of Quarryville, Pennsylvania, Jacqueline Kessler and Caryl Fox of Framingham, Ma, and Ray and Laura Kessler of Ridgefield Connecticut. A service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11a.m. at the Valley Bible Church in White River, Jct. with a brief viewing prior beginning at 10:30a.m. Burial will follow in the West Lebanon Cemetery in West Lebanon, NH. A reception fill follow the burial at the Valley Bible Church Hall . The Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., Vt has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Valley Bible Church Compassion Fund, Bayada Hospice or Cover Home Repair.
