White River Jct., VT- Helen J. Rich, 91, of White River Jct., VT, died Wednesday February 23, at the Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct.
She was born March 13, 1919 in Sutton Quebec, the daughter of Arthur and Mabel (Chenette) Patten. She attended school in St. Albans, VT and graduated from the Bellows Free Academy in 1937, after which, she worked as a bookkeeper. On September 28, 1946, Helen married Harold P Rich in St Albans, where they lived together until moving to Burlington, VT in 1964. In 1970 they moved south to Lighthouse Point, FL, where they stayed for over 30 years before moving to Flagstaff, AZ in 1992 and then to Show Low, AZ in 1995, and finally to White River Jct., VT in 2002.
Helen worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses until her retirement in 1982. She loved birds, crocheting, and knitting.
Helen is predeceased by her husband Harold, a brother, James Patten, and a sister, Williamette Austin.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Peggy J Rich of White River Jct., VT, Carol A Gilmond and her husband Michael of Tequesta, FL, Bonnie L. Krouskroup and her husband Jack of Ormond Beach, FL, and Marlene L. Green and her husband Patrick of Show Low, AZ, 13 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Pheonix, AZ.
