IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Grace
Youtt
October 11, 1924 – November 21, 2022
Grace Youtt passed quietly in her sleep at the age of 98, on Monday, November 21, 2022, in Lebanon, NH. Grace was born to Joseph and Mary Fountain on October 11, 1924, in Newport NH. Grace was the youngest of three children, a brother Wallace, a sister Evelyn, and then came Grace.
Grace lost her mother Mary to tuberculosis and soon after, her father Joseph contracted rheumatic fever. Joseph spent almost 10 years in hospitals recovering from his illness. Grace can remember her parents dancing together listening to the victrola, a memory she always treasured.
Most of Grace's childhood was spent in foster care and it is with one of the families who cared for her that Grace found her love of music. The foster family was very musically gifted and played in the local church, Grace loved gospel music and enjoyed singing in the church. In the summer on the weekends, neighbors would bring their instruments to the house, they would play and sing gospel and blues late into the night while the children chased fireflies.
When Joseph was well enough he got his children back and raised them with as much love as he could muster, Grace loved being back home and her love of music carried on to the end. Often in the afternoon she could be heard in her room singing gospel or old country songs from the grand ole opry.
Grace was predeceased by her husbands Earl Blackmore and Walter Youtt, her siblings Wally and Evelyn, and stepdaughters Marion Southard and Inez Smith. Grace is survived by her sons Ronald Allard and Rick Blackmore, as well as her daughters Judy Demary, Ginny Gould, Laura Labine, Linda Alexander, Lesa Knapp, and Louise Clark. Grace is also survived by her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Grace left this world with the love of all of her family. " No tears for me!" Grace said, " God willing, I will be smiling down on you all with love." A graveside service for Grace will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022, at 1pm at West Lebanon Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be held in early summer 2023.
