IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Grace E.
Magoon
July 14, 1946 – May 25, 2022
Windsor, VT- Grace E. Magoon, 75, passed away peacefully at the Jake Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH on May 25, 2022.
Grace was born July 14, 1946 in Windsor, Vermont to the late Leo and Clara (Moquin) Lamica. She grew up on the outskirts of Windsor and graduated from the Windsor High School in 1966.
Grace married Larry Magoon and lived in Hartford, CT and dreamed of having children and someday sharing their "love letters" with them. Unfortunately, her dreams ended after the divorce. Grace returned home to family and friends. She lived with her folks on the "hill" and became a big help to her mom and dad. Shoveling the driveway, splitting and stacking wood, grocery shopping, yearly major spring cleaning, and often caring for her grandmother so they could go on vacations. They later moved off the "hill" and into Ascutney, after both parents passed. She lived independently for some time and settled in at the Stoughton House, where she thrived making friends and staying active. Everyone just loved Grace. She was fun, funny and full of life. She was up for any challenge and once she set her mind to it there was no stopping her. She just recently became a talented watercolor artist, even though it was a new medium for her.
Grace love to dance and spoke of the Brownsville, VT weekly dances, known as the "stomp". She loved her family, friends, her church and all the folks she came in contact with. Everyone truly understood and loved Grace. Her uplifting bubbly personality was inspirational to so many. She will be greatly missed.
Grace is predeceased by her two sisters, Josephine and JeanAnne and her brother, Leo, Jr. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families along with her Aunt Pat and husband.
She wished for a graveside service. Family and friends are welcome to attend Friday, June 17 at 2:00pm in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor. Knight Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com
