WINDSOR, VT

Gordon P. Barbour, 70, a resident of Windsor, passed away Friday morning, May 17 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Emergency Room in Lebanon.

He was born at the Windsor Hospital on June 1, 1948, the son of Chester and Addie (Warren) Barbour. He attended Hartland and Windsor schools. Gordon was drafted into the US Army in 1968 and was later stationed in Korea at the DMZ. Upon his return home, he began his career in building and concrete construction. He started his own business in Brownsville, building two homes and a commercial building.

Gordon married Sherry Brown in January of 1970. They were later divorced. They have two sons, Richard and Jamie.

Gordon enjoyed "plinking," target shooting with his sons, family gatherings, and spending time with his sisters, granddaughters and bingo.

He was a life member of the Windsor Elks Club, the Windsor American Legion Post, the VFW in White River Jct. and the NRA.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Louise Lyman and Marie Manning.

Gordon is survived by his two sons, Richard Barbour of Windsor and Jamie Barbour of Brownsville, his sisters, Beverly Thibodeau, Mary Ryan and Sandra LaFlamme, three granddaughters, Angelica, Sequoia and Isabelle, one great grandson, Lupe Diaz, his former wife, Sherry Barbour, several nieces, nephews, cousins, good friend, Pat and neighbor, Les.

Per Gordon's request, there will be no public services.

The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor assisted with the arrangements.
