Gladys B. White

Grafton, NH - Gladys B. White, 90, died peacefully at home on November 10, 2014.

She was born July 23, 1924 in Limestone, ME the daughter of Frank and Mary Jane "Anna" (L`itleten) Bell. Gladys grew up and attended school in Limestone, ME before her marriage to Leonard A. "John" White Sr. They moved to the Beaver Meadow District of Norwich, VT and Gladys began work at the Hanover Inn. Gladys recalled working at the Inn as some of the best times of her life. After Mr. White's death in 1972 she continued to live in Norwich until 1985 when she moved to White River Jct. where she lived with her longtime companion, Albert Dailey. After his death in 2007, Gladys moved to Grafton, NH to live with her son Frank.

Mrs. White was a longtime member of St. Anthony's Church and since moving to Grafton has attended St. Mary's Mission in Canaan. Gladys loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She also enjoyed quilting, soft serve ice cream, game shows, cooking and playing mini golf. She will be remembered as someone who was very giving to those who were less fortunate.

Gladys is predeceased by her husband Leonard, companion Albert and her brothers Roland Bell, Burton Bell, and Ivan "Peanut" Bell

She is survived by her two sons Leonard A. White Jr. of Danbury, NH and Frank J. White and his wife Nancy of Grafton, NH; four daughters Sheila Kelley and her husband Simeon of Wichita Kansas, Lillian England and her husband Evan of Las Vegas Nevada, Pauline White and her companion Jim of Wheelock, VT and Ernestine "Tina" Weigel and her husband Frank of White River Jct., VT; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; two brothers Nelson J. Bell of Nova Scotia, and Gary Bell of Corinth, ME.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 3-5PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Mission in Canaan on Monday at 10 AM with Fr. Johnny Vadakkan, M.S. officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Jct.
