Bradford, VT – Geraldine F. Gaudette, 94, formerly of White River Jct., died Saturday June 14, 2014 at the Woodridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Berlin, VT.
She was born in Springfield, MA, March 2, 1920 a daughter of Charles Byron and Mary (Johnson) Smith. She grew up in Worthington, MA where she graduated from Springfield High School. She was married to Bernard Gaudette, May 30, 1942 in Huntington, MA. They lived in Huntington for many years, where Mrs. Gaudette worked at home caring for her family. They moved to White River Jct. in 1961 and she began working as a secretary, first at Green Mountain Power and later at Shopping International in Norwich until retiring. After her retirement she enjoyed volunteering as an escort at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. She moved to Bradford, VT in the early 1990's where she lived with her daughter and family and has been a resident at Woodbridge in Berlin for the past ten years.
Mrs. Gaudette was a past member of the Wilder Women's Club and more recently enjoyed working on puzzles.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard, in 1981, a son, Richard "Dick" Gaudette, in 2002, two brothers Harold Smith and Richard Smith and a sister Eleanor Moltenbrey.
She is survived by a son John Gaudette and his wife Pat of New Bern, NC; a daughter Cherie Kingsbury and her husband Gary of Bradford; nine grandsons, Mike Gaudette of Wilder, Ray Gaudette and his wife Charlene of Wilder, Brian Gaudette of White River Jct., Jeff Gaudette and his wife Katherine of Piermont, NH, Chris Gaudette and his wife Karen of Windham, NH, Johnathan Gaudette of Vancouver, OR, Patrick Gaudette of Kansas City, MO, Matt Kingsbury of Colorado Springs, CO and Andy Kingsbury of Barre, VT; eight great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters; a sister-in-law Josephine Smith of Springfield, MA as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Jct. on Saturday June 21st at 11AM.
