IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gerald J.
"Jerry" Lepisko, Sr.
December 2, 1937 – January 29, 2019
WINDSOR, VT
Gerald John Lepisko, Sr., 81, a resident of Windsor, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 29 at the Gill Odd Fellows Home in Ludlow, Vermont.
Jerry was born on December 2, 1937 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to Frank and Frances Lepisko. He moved with his wife Janice and their four children to Vermont to work for the Quechee Lakes Cooperation in December of 1972. Jerry loved the open road, and giving up his corporate career at Quechee Lakes in 1977, he became a long haul truck driver for two and a half years. After that, his career in building took over again. He built resorts, businesses, first homes and second homes, many kinds of cabinets, and pieces of furniture. Jerry wore the same thing every day: blue jeans and a blue denim button-up. He'd add a turtleneck in the winter. He loved corn on the cob, hot dogs and beans, and was known to put ketchup on the well thought out gourmet meals made by Janice, to whom he was married for 54 years. When he was still in Scranton he served in the Marine Corps reserves. Later he served on the Hartford School Board and the Windsor Select Board. Jerry loved to stir the pot and believed strongly in his right to say what he thought. This was usually punctuated with a gesture that included a shrug, raised eyebrows, and a knowing smirk. His three granddaughters remember that he always said, "God bless," when hanging up the phone with them. They laughed when he would offer to "make" them a pie that they knew came out of a box from the freezer. When you visited Jerry and Janice, if Jerry got up to get himself another cup of coffee he would say, "Can I get anybody anything?" He'd say the same thing when he sat back down or when he was headed out the door to smoke his ubiquitous pipe. It was a constant refrain because he seem to always want the people he loved to be relaxed, well cared for, and comfortable.
At his request there will be no public services.
Jerry is survived by his wife Janice (Wenzel) Lepisko, his son Jerry Lepisko and his partner Michele Goodell, his daughter Jill Trombly and her husband Gene, his daughter Jennifer Lepisko, his three granddaughters Hannah Lepisko, and Bella and Ava Bjornstad, his sister Connie Graff, his sister Louise Phillips and her husband James, his brothers-in-law Tom and Gary Wenzel, and several nieces and nephews.
