Obituary

White River Jct., VT- Gerald "Jerry" Dailey, 74, died Sunday, December 7, 2025, with his wife by his side at the Country Village Center in Lancaster, NH.

Jerry was born on March 13, 1951. He spent his early years in an orphanage in Rochester, NH, later living at the Dearborn Farm in Piermont, NH. He graduated from Bradford Academy in 1970. On January 5, 1984, Jerry married Katherine Evans in Lebanon, NH, and together they shared over 40 years of marriage.

Jerry worked in a variety of jobs throughout his life. He began in several Upper Valley restaurants before serving as a janitor at Dartmouth College. He later worked for New Jersey Machine Tool, and most recently for Walmart in West Lebanon until retiring due to his health.

A proud veteran, Jerry served in the United States Army, including 18 months in Vietnam. After his active-duty service, he continued his commitment through the National Guard. Jerry was a life member of the American Legion and proudly served on the Honor Guard for 30 years. He also served as Vermont State Sergeant at Arms from 1992 to 1993. He was a member of both the American Legion Post #26 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lebanon, NH. Outside of his work and service, Jerry loved to play pool and enjoyed the camaraderie it brought him.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Madeline (Boucher) Dailey, and sisters, Barbary Vysocky, Mary Durante, and Sheila Regione.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Katherine Dailey of Lancaster, his sisters and their families, Sandy Demary of Rutland, Debbie Adams of Canaan, NH, Donna Mullins (Richard) of White River, Rose Dailey (Norman) of Lebanon, and Tina Dailey of West Lebanon and a brother in law, Jesse Regione of White River.

A visitation will be held from 11am-12pm on Monday, December 15 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, with a funeral service beginning at 12pm. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lebanon with military honors.
