WINDSOR, VT
Georgia J. Furman, 73, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 24, at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.
She was born June 28, 1936 in Windsor the daughter of Graton and Alice (Wood) King. She received her schooling in Claremont and Windsor. She graduated from Windsor High School in 1955. She was employed at the Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, and later at the Windsor Area Chamber of Commerce, Historic Windsor, the Vermont State Craft Center in Windsor and the Windsor Price Chopper.
Georgia was a loving daughter, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and niece. Her favorite days were holidays. She enjoyed family gatherings, spending time with her friends and days at the ocean. She loved collecting anything lighthouse related. While raising her own family in Windsor, Georgia opened her heart and her door to many area children.
She was predeceased by her father.
Survivors include her loving mother, Alice King of Windsor, three daughters, Jean Beaulieu and her husband Larry of Windsor, Terri Hage of Windsor, and Cathy Niboli and her husband Lance of Cornish, NH, one son, David Furman and his wife, Janet of Windsor. She will always be remembered by her seven grandchildren, Heather and William J. Henne, Felicia and Nevin Niboli, Nathaniel Furman and Heidi and Joel Hage, for her kindness, love and sense of humor. She also leaves three nephews.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor on Wednesday, January 27 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 28 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Amanda Lape-Freeberg, Pastor of the Old South Congregational Church in Windsor, officiating. Committal services will be held at a later date in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
