White River Junction, VT - George W. " Dadsy" "Butchie" Mann
died Monday, March 24, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born September 29, 1946 in Palmer, MA, a son of Eugene and Eva (Gaybury) Mann. He attended the Palmer Schools and went to work for the William Wright Company in Warner, MA. He was married to Mary Boyce September 17, 1983 in Quechee, VT. They Moved to Warner, MA for a time before moving to White River Junction. He went to work for Catamount Brewery, washed dishes at Lena's Lunch and later at Sharon Container Company in Sharon, VT until he could no longer work.
Butchie enjoyed working and would work seven days a week 12 hours a day and went for eight years with out taking a day off. He loved to tell jokes, a huge fan of Jeff Gordon, he loved going fishing or a day at the races. He would occasionally attend Dartmouth hockey games but his true passion was his family and his dog Mamoo.
He is predeceased by a brother Francis Mann and a sister Helen.
He is survived by his wife Mary Mann of White River Junction, four sons, David Mann of North Carolina, Billy Sarazin of Methuen, MA, Shawn Sarazin of Salem, NH, Ken Sarazin of Tampa, FL, five daughters, Tina Spencer of White River Junction, Wendy Carter of Ascutney, VT, Carol Sarazin Lebanon, NH, Loretta Sarazin of Bradford, VT, and Rosemary Isaacs of Homer, MI, twenty three grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren a sister Ruth Palacko of Connecticut and a brother Donald Mann of Palmer, MA
Visiting hours will be held Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT from 5-7PM. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the VNA & Hospice of VT&NH for all the hard work and dedication they gave to Dadsy, and for all the help from friends and neighbors especially Tammy Race.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756.
