White River Jct., VT- George F. Devins, a lifetime resident of White River Junction, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. George was born in Lebanon, NH on March 8, 1939, to Harold and Eleanor (Campbell) Devins of White River Jct. He was the second child of four.

George met his wife, Mary Locke, on a blind date in 1959 and they were married May 6, 1961. They lived all their married life in Wilder and White River Junction. Their biggest dream was to live in a log cabin, which they finally built in 1984 on his family land.

He was a member of the former Hartford Elks Club and a current member of the American Legion Post 0026.

He enjoyed camping, fishing at West Pond with relatives, bluegrass festivals (especially the Jenney Brook Bluegrass Festival in Tunbridge), going dancing and going to Mary's annual family reunion held each year in July, which has been going on for over 50 years. He was a big Boston Bruins and New England Patriots fan. He had great interest in trains and could make the sound of the train whistle which would fool everyone. He always enjoyed going to his childrens' sporting and music events, as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, James Devins, two nieces, Lori Tweed and Heidi Stokes, two nephews, Allen Stokes and Jeffrey Locke. Also his brother in law, Earl Locke, and his sister in law, Linda (Stan) Stokes.

He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, his son, Mark (Carol) Devins, his two daughters, Karen (Brian) Raymond, and Jennifer (Peter) Libuda, his ten grandchildren, Heather (Seth) Fernandes, Nicole (Travis) Kendrick, Ashley Hard, Cody Hard, Brian (Abbi) Devins, Daniel (Colleen) Devins, Allison (Roman) Ammirato, Madison Libuda, Matthew (Kayla Girdwood) Libuda, and Megan Libuda. He also has 9 great grandchildren, Isabelle (Dylan Labrake) & Massey Fernandes, Madilyn LaRoche, Jayden & Benjamin Foster, Baylor Ammirato, Connor Devins, and was expecting a new great-granddaughter in February of next year. He is also survived by his brother, John Devins of TN, and his sister, MaryAnn Devins of VT, and his sister in law, Jill Devins of VT. Also, his special nephew, Donald Stokes and his wife, Tracy.
