George T. Boyd Jr.

White River Jct., VT – George T. Boyd Jr., 91, died Sunday, September 4th at Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct.

He was born May 22, 1920 in Swenson, TX a son of George and Emma (English) Boyd. After graduating from Swenson High School, George enlisted in the US Army and later in the US Air Force. He was stationed at bases throughout the United States while serving as an airplane mechanic before being honorably discharged after twenty five years of service. George was married to Hildegard Spie in October of 1971 in Las Vegas, NV. They settled in Austin, TX and later moved to White River Jct. where they have lived since. In his retirement George operated a building maintenance and cleaning service, maintaining several facilities in White River Jct. including the Municipal Building and Bugbee Senior Center.

He is predeceased by five brothers, English, Clarence, Walter, Reese and Joe Boyd as well as two sisters Anna and Lorraine.

He is survived by his wife, Hildegard, of White River Jct.; two daughters Nancy Witkowski and her husband Randy of White River Jct. and Stephaine Eiane and her husband Courtney of Round Hill, VA; six grandchildren Rachel, Stephen and Courtney Witkowski and Elsa, Claire and Julia Eiane; a sister Nina Armstrong of Yuba City, CA as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held in the Vermont Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, VT on Thursday September 8th at 9:30AM.
