Obituary

White River Jct., VT - Gavin Anthony Farnsworth, 21, died from a fatal injury on Saturday, August 1, 2020.

Gavin grew up in White River Jct., VT and graduated from Hartford High School Class of 2017. He was a talented athlete playing basketball, football, and baseball throughout his youth including playing on several AAU basketball teams. Most notably, Gavin was the quarterback of Hartford High's 2016 State Championship Football Team. Gavin loved playing sports and often mentored his younger teammates.

After high school, Gavin took a cross country road trip and lived in California for a time before returning to the Upper Valley. Most recently, he enjoyed learning the stonework trade while working for Shambo Stone Masonry.

Gavin had a beautiful soul that was full of love and peace and the ability to make friends everywhere he went. He was the best listener and loved to have long conversations about life. Gavin had a smile that would light up a room and a hug that would make you feel like the most important person in the world. He was an avid sports fan who loved the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia 76er's. Gavin loved spending his time in the outdoors with his dog, Omen - hiking, fishing or jumping off a rope swing at local swimming holes. Another favorite activity was gaming with his younger brother, Aiden and friends. Gavin loved his brother so much and spent many nights playing Fortnite into the morning hours with him.

Gavin had so much love in him, so much capacity to bring happiness to others and such a bright future ahead of him. The world is a lesser place without him and he will be missed more than he will ever know. He was truly the light of his family's life.

Gavin is survived by his mother, Danielle Ann Farnsworth (Joseph Day) of White River Jct.; a brother, Aiden Bushey of Roxbury, VT; a step-sister, Willow Day of Sharon, VT; grandmother, Deborah Farnsworth and uncle Paul Farnsworth both of White River Jct.; aunt Crystal Teffner (Fritz) of Charlestown, NH; aunt Beth Hayman of Lebanon, NH; cousins, Simon and Delia Teffner and Faith Talbot; and last but not least, his faithful dog, Omen.

A graveside service will be held in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wilder on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at 2:30PM. Masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged.
