Wilder, VT- Gary G. Stark, 82, passed away on June 18, 2024. He was born November 16 ,1941, to Doris and George Stark of Enfield, NH.

He attended schools in Lebanon, NH but at the age of 12, his parents traveled west to Montana, Washington, and California looking for work. He had many memories of his time there. The family returned to Lebanon to their home
on River Street.

A few years later, the family moved to Fairlee, VT, where Gary's dad owned a filling station and garage. Gary had his first experience of his life long work of being a mechanic.

He graduated from Thetford Academy in 1959. After graduation, he spent one winter in Connecticut, working for a fuel delivery company. He returned the following year to start work for Lamontague Ford in Bradford, Vermont.

On September 18, 1963, Gary married Elaine Totas of Bradford. Soon after they moved to Wilder, VT where Gary started a 30+ year career with the Miller Auto Company. After retirement, he worked part time for Merchand Bros Garage.

Gary enjoyed hunting, and especially fishing in his retirement. He and Elaine made many trips to northern Vermont to fish Lake Seymour, and Echo Lake. Always a great experience to catch a large salmon or lake trout. Many good
times were had with friends at the cabin by the lake. He also enjoyed a large garden every year and was able to supply vegetables for the winter months. Gary enjoyed the animals that passed through his home. After retirement, the last Sheltie they had, Gabbi, had a special place in his heart.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine, his son, Wayne Stark and Sarah of Warren, NH, and daughter, Shirley Ricker  and Kevin of Groton, VT, two grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, and a sister, Gale Brown.
