ASCUTNEY, VT
Gary J. "Red" Marsh, Sr., 71, a longtime resident of Weathersfield, VT passed away Sunday morning, September 9 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.
He was born January 12, 1941 in Orford, NH the son Roy C. and Grace (Cutler) Marsh. He was one of thirteen children growing up in Cornish, N.H. He received his schooling in Cornish and Claremont, New Hampshire. He married Josephine Mae Lamica on November 10, 1962. She passed away on July 27, 1994. Mr. Marsh was employed for a total of forty two years at the former Cone Blanchard Machine Tool Company in Windsor, first as a machinist and later in the shipping and receiving department until his retirement.
Gary enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, wildlife, hunting in his younger years with his brothers and sons, talking politics, a little gambling, and his 4:00 coffee.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Hryckiewicz and her husband, Henry of Lafayette, NY, two sons, Gary J. Marsh, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Springfield, and Timothy Marsh of Brattleboro, two grandsons, four granddaughters and seven siblings, six brothers and one sister, several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 15 at 11:00 AM in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor, with the Rev. Dave Jones, Pastor of the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Windsor, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Vermont Affiliate at PO Box 1460, Williston, VT 05495 for smoking awareness.
