With heavy hearts, the family of Gary Wayne Ingraham announces his passing at the Jack Byrne Center on July 11, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on October 7, 1954, in Littleton, New Hampshire, Gary was the son of Maynard "Bunny" Ingraham and Pauline Cassady Ingraham. After a courageous battle with severe liver disease, Gary found peace surrounded by the love of his family.

As a young boy, Gary's family settled in Royalton, Vermont, where his father owned and operated a trucking business. It was there that Gary discovered the passion that would shape much of his life. He loved anything with an engine and was happiest behind the wheel or under the hood. Whether driving a school bus or a big rig, Gary spent his life on the road, traveling close to 5 million miles while hauling everything from granite, logs, dirt, and lumber to groceries, mulch, petroleum products, and even passengers on Royal Lines Bus Tours.

Gary's love of engines extended far beyond his work. Some of his happiest memories were made racing alongside his brothers, Roy and Jack. Those years at the track were filled with competition, laughter, and a bond that only brothers could share. He also proudly served his community as a volunteer with the South Royalton Fire Department, always willing to lend a hand when his neighbors needed him.

For more than 25 years, Gary proudly drove for Roy Ingraham Trucking, Inc., where he had the privilege of working alongside his brother, Roy. For Gary, trucking wasn't just a job—it was who he was. Even after retirement, he couldn't stay away from the driver's seat and continued working for local businesses because he simply loved to drive. When he wasn't on the road, he could almost always be found in the garage, happily tinkering with old cars, Jeeps, lawn mowers, or anything mechanical that needed a little care and attention.

In 1972, Gary married the love of his life, Corinne Blaisdell. Together they shared over 53 years of love, partnership, laughter, and unwavering devotion to one another. Their greatest pride was the family they built together. Gary treasured every moment spent with his children and especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. Whether camping together, cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers, or enjoying the sunshine in Myrtle Beach with Corinne and the many wonderful friends they made there, Gary appreciated life's simple pleasures and the people who shared them.

Gary will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Corinne; his son, Brent Ingraham and his wife, Melanie, of Stafford, Virginia, and their children, Kyler and Amanda; his daughter, Kristen Cronan and her husband, Ben, of South Royalton, Vermont, and their children, Landon and Josie; his brother, Roy Ingraham and his wife, Kay; his sister, Judy Williams and her husband, Dale; sister-in-law Anne Neron and her husband, Lou; his brother-in-law, Steve MacKnight and his wife, Audrey; his sister-in-law, Lori MacKnight; along with many cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends, fellow truckers, and members of the South Royalton community whose lives he touched over the years.

Gary was welcomed into eternal rest by his parents; his sister, Susan Farrell and her husband, John; his brother, Jack Ingraham; his parents-in-law, George and Bertha MacKnight; and Brother in law Gary Blaisdell.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gary's life during calling hours from 5-7PM on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, Vermont. A funeral service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, July 18, 2026 also at the funeral home. The family looks forward to sharing memories and celebrating a life so well lived.

One of Gary's final wishes was that his brother, Roy, give him one last ride. Following the service, a convoy of trucks will accompany Gary on his journey to Pine Hill Cemetery in Sharon, Vermont. It is a tribute that could not be more fitting for a man whose heart belonged to the open road, whose hands were always busy fixing something, and whose greatest joy was the people he loved.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Jack Byrne Center for the compassionate care and kindness they showed Gary and those who loved him.

Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction has been entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences may be shared with the family.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Gary’s memory may be made to South Royalton Fire & Rescue Association, Inc., PO Box 204 South Royalton, VT 05068
