IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gail Boudro
Dow
May 30, 1949 – May 7, 2024
Windsor, VT—Gail Boudro Dow, 74, died at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH with her son, John Ryan, by her side on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.
Gail was born May 30, 1949, to John and Loretta (Elwood) Boudro, and grew up in Windsor. She graduated from Windsor High School with the class of 1968. In 1969, she married John Ryan and together they raised their son, John III, before separating 20 years later. She attended beauty school after high school and worked several years at June's Country Setting until going to work at P&C Supermarket as deli manager. In 1994, she married Gary Dow. They spent seven years together before his death in 2001. She worked for the Dorian family for many years handling all of their housekeeping needs. She remained in close touch with them after retiring.
Gail truly loved her home on Juniper Terrace, where she spent countless hours in her flower beds, and on the "banks" where she took pride in making sure her property always was in top notch shape. She spent many days at the John P. Larkin Country Club in Windsor in her earlier years. She took a love for Shepards later in life, having three German Shepards before her latest pup, Bentley, who was an Australian Shepard. She spoiled these dogs rotten and anyone who knew her knew that she probably liked the dogs more than any person. Gail always paid close attention to the sale flyers and loved simply browsing around stores in the Upper Valley, before she discovered online shopping was much easier than leaving the house. She had many friends over the years that would come for coffee out on the back deck with her. Her pride and joy was her son, John, and grandson, Noah. She looked forward to their summer visits and John's hunting trips in the fall as well as facetiming with Noah regularly. She became very fond of her neighbor, Brodie (and daughter, Allie), when they built a house next door in 2013. Allie and Gail made many memories together beginning when Allie was old enough to yell across the yard from the window to Gail as a small toddler. Gail could be stubborn at times and "would tell you like it is". She had a heart of gold and would do anything for those closest to her. She was very thankful for Noah Buchanan and all his extra hard work helping with her property, and running any and all errands she needed when she no longer left the house. She valued the relationship she had with both him and his partner, Emily, and was thankful for the time they both spent with her when she needed it most.
Gail was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Gary Dow, her infant daughter, Nicole Ryan, brother, James Boudro, sisters, Ramona Noel, Betty Partch, and Lorraine Carney, and two nephews, Timothy, and Richard Tucker.
She leaves behind her son, John Ryan, III, daughter in law, Krista Ryan, grandson, Noah Ryan of Winter Garden, FL, and her brothers, Kenneth Boudro of Mesa, AZ, and Darrell Boudro of Windsor, VT, several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Jack Byrne Center for the care they provided. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society at PO Box 702, Brownsville, VT 05037.
Interment will take place 11am on Saturday, June 15th, 2024 in the St. Francis Cemetery in Windsor, VT. Knight Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements, and condolences can be expressed in an online guestbook found at www.knightfuneralhomes.com
