WEATHERSFIELD CENTER, VT- Freida O. Leneau, 81, passed away Wednesday morning, February 19 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.
She was born September 19, 1938 in Reading, VT the daughter of Robert and Carrie (Allen) Smith. She received her schooling in Reading and Amsden and graduated from Springfield High School in 1956. She married Duane Veysey in Perkinsville in 1957. He passed away in 1982. Freida married Robert Leneau in 1999 in Windsor.
Mrs. Leneau was employed as a machine tool operator at G.S. Precision in Brattleboro and more recently worked as a private caregiver.
She enjoyed raising her children and babysitting other children. She was also fond of knitting, crocheting, sewing, camping, dancing and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Leneau of Weathersfield Center, three sons, Sydney Veysey and his wife, Cyndy of Vershire, VT, Keith Veysey of Springfield, VT and Shawn Veysey and his wife Anne of Bradenton, FL, two stepdaughters, Holly Superneau and her husband, Roddy of Milton, VT and Michelle MacLaughlin and her husband, Luke of Weathersfield Center, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother, Alfred Smith and his wife, Anne of Springfield, VT, one sister, Margaret Spaulding and her husband, Robert of Ascutney, VT, several nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 27 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor. The Rev. Charles R. Danielson will be the Celebrant.
A reception for family and friends will follow in the church hall. Committal services will be held in the spring in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.
