Wilder, VT – Frederick C. White, 83, died Sunday October 27, 2019 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
He was born March 13, 1936 in Hanover, NH a son of Oscar and Bernice (Day) White. Fred grew up in Etna and later worked at Putnam's Drug Store in Hanover where he met and fell in love with Sylvia Johnson. They were married October 28, 1956 and made their home in White River Jct. before moving to Wilder where they have lived for the past 50 years. Fred drove truck for various local companies including LH Cook in Norwich for many years. More recently he enjoyed working as a crossing guard at the Marion Cross School in Norwich, retiring in 2017 after 20 years of service.
Mr. White enjoyed woodworking but most of all loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia of Wilder; daughters Tina Walwyn and husband Merlin of Swedesboro, NJ, Tammy Barragan and husband Michael of Vershire, VT, Terri Davis and husband James of Brattleboro, VT and Melissa "Missy" Burnham and husband Dennis of White River Jct., VT, several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Ronald Lambert, Bill, Harold and Richard White and sisters Bertice Dyke, Ruth Keith, Mary Harper and Dorothy Papa.
A private graveside service will be held in the Etna Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
