Obituary

Frederick K. Rising of Windsor, VT, 90, died on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Jack Byrne Center for Hospice and Palliative Care in Lebanon, NH.  He was born in Claremont, NH on February 8, 1933, to Russell and Louise (Price) Rising and graduated from Windsor High School, class of 1951.  Starting in high school, he played the clarinet and tenor saxophone in an area dance band and the Claremont Community Band for several years.

He served in the US Army during the Korean conflict from 1953-1955. After returning home he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Margaret Bishop, on May 7, 1955.

He did an apprenticeship for wood patternmaking at Cone Blanchard Machine Co. for four years and then worked there an additional 17 years. He then moved on to Manufacturer's Pattern Foundry Corp, O'Brien's Brass Foundry Corp., and Lucas Pattern Co. in Springfield for a time prior to becoming a co-owner and operator of the VT Pattern Co. in Windsor until his retirement in 1994.

He is survived by four children David Rising and wife Bernadette of Claremont, NH, Gregory Rising of West Windsor, VT, Stephanie Graf and husband Walter of Lowville, NY, and Jennifer Allard and husband Thomas of Williamstown, VT; grandchildren Shannon, Joshua, Jacqueline, and Josephine; great grandchildren Ryan, Carter, Lucas, and Ethan; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Margaret (Bishop) Rising.

Per his request there will be no public services and a private committal will be held.
