IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frederick Leo
Jarvis
November 23, 1935 – November 12, 2021
Frederick Leo Jarvis, 85, died November 12, 2021. He was born November 23, 1935, the son of George & Lena Jarvis (Greenwood).
Fred (Toon) was born and raised on "The Farm" on South Mountain Road in Weathersfield, VT. This is the place that brought so many memories, traditions, life experiences, and family together, for not only Fred, but for anyone that ever went to "The Farm", or just hear the many many stories that people have told.
Fred married, and then divorced Judy Barrows and they had three daughters Darlene, Sheri and Lisa.
On October 10, 1970, Toon married Shirley (Dunn) Bruce who had three children Steve, Patty and Cindy. Fred and Shirley bought a house on the Gulf Road in Perkinsville, VT where they raised their family and passed along "The Farm" traditions, along with making many new ones. They lived there until Shirley passed on March 11, 2011 at which time they had been married 41 years. Shirley was the backbone of their marriage that made things happen, but together they did what had to get done, to provide the best life they could for their family. Fred lived at their home until a leg amputation in July of 2018 at which time he moved in with his daughter Cindy (& John) in Chester, VT where he lived out the rest of his life.
Fred spent 8 years in the National Guards that he was more than proud of and talked about often. He worked for the Town of Weathersfield early in his life, then he worked for The Claremont Paper Mill in Claremont, NH in the yard for 30 years, after that he worked at Cone Blanchard in Windsor, VT until he retired.
Toon enjoyed the country life which involved farming, boating, camping, fishing, hunting, listening to endless old country music and bluegrass, and he loved to dance (mostly with his wife Shirley in their kitchen).
He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Jarvis, his beloved brother, Ronald (Buster) Jarvis, his "Sister" Beverly Domey, and his daughter Sheri Jarvis. Also his niece Donna Willet and nephew Dale Porter.
He was survived by his children Steve, Patty, Cindy, Darlene and Lisa. Along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and dear to his heart nieces and nephew's.
There will be a service and celebration of life, along with food at the Elks Lodge - 49 Park Street, Springfield VT at 1pm Saturday November 20, 2021. Bring your memories, stories, love and laughter for all to share.
Condolence's to Toon's family may be expressed in an online guestbook found at www.knightfuneralhomes.com.
